FAQ WORK EXPERIENCEDoes s.Oliver offer work experience placements? Generally speaking, we mainly offer work experience in connection with degree courses (‘internships’). See our current vacancies in the Vacancies section for more information; they are updated on a daily basis. We also welcome speculative applications from suitable applicants for future reference. Is there a minimum period for work experience placements/internships? We recommend six months of work experience to give you the appropriate insight, and to allow you to learn as much as you can about what the job entails. This is the only way to guarantee that we will be able to assign individual projects and responsibilities to you. However, sometimes, after consultation with the respective specialist department, we may also be in a position to agree to shorter internships. Do you get paid on a work experience placement/internship? Depending on the length of the work experience placement/internship we will pay you in accordance with the work you do. The amount we pay you depends entirely on your qualifications, and the department you work in. We do not remunerate work experience for people who are still at school, or short-term work experience placements, neither do we offer these at our stores. Does s.Oliver also offer work experience/internships in countries other than Germany? s.Oliver's headquarters is located in Rottendorf, near Würzburg, Germany. This is where all our key departments are – this is the hub of s.Oliver. We therefore only offer work experience/internships in Germany. How do you support people on a work experience placement/internship with s.Oliver? On their first day with us, everyone doing their work experience/internship with s.Oliver is assigned a mentor from the relevant specialist department who is responsible for any organisational issues. Regular feedback rounds ensure that people on work experience are given feedback, and offer a chance to address individual issues in depth. We also provide a networking platform to make it possible for people on work experience/internships in different departments to get to know one another and to talk about their experiences in regular monthly ‘virtual meetings’. |
